Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Notable Changes In Cal Kestis

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is going to be a hit! This year at the 2022 Game Awards, there were many big games taking center stage. Games like “Elden Ring and God Of War” Ragnarok were both highly decorated. Alongside games that have already been released fans all over the world also got to see some trailers for games that are yet to be released.

The game that stood out the most from that group was Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Being the second installment in the “Jedi” series, `Jedi Survivor will be the sequel to 2019’s Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.

Fallen Order followed a former Jedi Padawan named Cal Kestis as he lives an everyday life after surviving the dreaded order 66. After losing his master Jaro Tapal, Cal was forced to hide his connection to the Force and work as a ship scraper on a junk planet called Bracca.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Backstory

After saving his friend from falling to his death by using the Force, Cal is forced to run from the Empire and their agents of evil, the Inquisitors. This takes Cal and his new friends on a long adventure across the galaxy as they try to rebuild the Jedi Order.

In his journeys, Cal defeats many Storm and Purge troopers as well as an Inquisitor who was trained by Darth Vader himself. Speaking Of Darth Vader, Cal Kestis also faced off with the Dark Lord and lived.

Making Cal one of the only Jedi to face Vader in combat and live to tell the tale. Cal’s encounter with Vader seems to have changed the young Jedi as in the new trailer seen at the 2022 Game Awards Cal is seen using very advanced techniques which is proof that he has been training and strengthening his connection to the Force. It seems like Cal is almost preparing for the thought of potentially facing the fearsome Sith Lord once again. (Maybe fans will even see some of that elusive Star Wars Spice in the game?)

Cal Kestis is a fan-favorite Jedi

Cal Kestis quickly became a fan-favorite Jedi, going as far as being mentioned in the Brotherhood novel written by Mike Chen. As well as his skills advancing, Cal is seen sporting a new beard and some very interesting scars.

With Star Wars: Jedi Survivor set to release on March 15th, 2023 fans can not wait to get the next installment of this beloved series. As we all count down the days until we can enjoy Jedi Survivor you can check out the official trailer as linked here via IGN on YouTube.
