Star Wars The Bad Batch: Season 2 Episode One Review

Star Wars The Bad Batch Season two

Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 is officially underway as we will review season two episode one. While season one was a rollercoaster of content. Season two seems to be focusing on the darker aspects of this time in the Star Wars Galaxy.

Of course, we still have some of the happy/funny moments we got in The Clone Wars series. Such as the beginning of the first episode of season two having The Bad Batch being chased by giant crabs. We also get some pretty dark moments at the end of the episode.

The Crab chase scene was great to get the viewers reestablished with The Bad Batch. It also gives Omega a chance to really show what she is capable of. This takes place a few months after the end of season one so Omega has had plenty of time to train.

A Dangerous Mission

Vulture.com elaborates on this well. Soon enough The Bad Batch is recruited for yet another dangerous mission. This one will take the group of rogue clones to the planet of Serenno. For those who are well-versed in Star Wars lore, this is the home planet of Count Dooku himself.

After the death of Dooku at the hand of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and the Separatist movement over. There are plenty of riches at Dooku’s palace. After some talking, the Bad Batch decides that the mission is worth the risk and heads out.

Echo can not help but think about the bigger picture. He tries to convince Hunter that they should use these riches to fight back against the Empire. This is one of the biggest changes from season one. Season one of The Bad batch was about survival. Now, season two might be about fighting back.

Big Changes From Season One

As the team arrives on Serenno they see the city has been destroyed by the Empire. Tech then explains to Omega that Dooku’s richest were stolen from the worlds he controlled during the Clone Wars. This then raises the question, aren’t The Bad Batch now doing the same thing the Separatists did? They chose to leave and fight a corrupt government. The group will never admit it because they were literally bred to fight the Separatists, but they are almost the same.

Episode one of season two showed a good change from what came before. It was nice to see some disagreements inside the core group. It shows how much stress The Bad Batch is under as they live on the run from the Empire. This season seems to be off to a good start and we can not wait for the rest of the episodes to air.
