Los Angeles Lakers superstar, LeBron James, and ESPN Analyst, Stephen A. Smith, are at war. This all started when Bronny James entered the NBA draft. LeBron was accused of pulling strings to get his son into the NBA. However, when Smith continued to talk badly about the young athlete and his struggles James had to step in. In order to attempt to defend his son, LeBron would approach Stephen at a Lakers game.

According to Athlon Sports, LeBron James and Stephen A. Smith are “in the midst of an ongoing beef.” After James called out Smith face-to-face at the game, Stephen would fire back on national television. However, while Smith explained his side of the story, this is not where things end. Recently, Stephen has explained why he and the L.A. superstar have never seen eye-to-eye before. However, it was still slightly disrespectful towards LeBron.

Stephen A. Smith Fires Back at LeBron James Amid NBA Drama

“We don’t get along,” Smith declared. “And there’s a multitude of reasons why I’ve alluded to some of them, but we know what the biggest reason is. “I ain’t Shannon Sharpe. It ain’t G.O.A.T. status this way. My G.O.A.T. is Michael Jordan… I watched the game. I’m a student of the game. I know a G.O.A.T. when I see one.”

Many current NBA fans have LeBron James as the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) in basketball. However, there are still some who believe Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time. While they played different positions and in different eras, it is almost impossible to compare James and Jordan. Despite that old-school ball was much more physical, the talent level is nowhere close to today’s game. Jordan did not have to face players like Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, or seven-foot-tall prodigies like Victor Wembanyama. Although Jordan had to deal with getting tackled every time he drove to the rim.

For Steven A. Smith to randomly call for Michael Jordan to be the G.O.A.T. over LeBron James was strange. However, their beef seems to be a little more serious than most thought. Smith and James have had their back and forth before. Although it has never been this serious before. LeBron does not play about his family. If someone comes after Bronny James, they will now have to deal with The King.
