Stephen “tWitch” Boss is dead. The dancer who was best known for his time as the resident DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was 40. According to TMZ, Boss was reportedly died by suicide. His body was discovered at a Los Angeles hotel after his wife, fellow dancer Allison Holker contacted police. Holker reportedly rushed to the LAPD station on Tuesday to report that her husband had left their home without his car.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us, Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” she told People Magazine. “He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans,” she continued.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,” she continued. “I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children. Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” Holker added.

Although Stephen “tWitch” Boss was recognizable as Ellen’s sidekick for many years, he was also known for his various other projects.Boss was the runner-up on “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2008. He later landed a role in one of the “Step Up” movies, as well as “Magic Mike XXL.”

Boss and Holker met when they both competed on the all-star season of “So You Think You Can Dance.” The couple tied the knot in 2013 and shared three children together. Their love of dance was evident in all of their projects, as well as many of their social media posts. They celebrated their 9-year wedding anniversary just days before his death.

Boss’ death is the latest celebrity passing to rock fans. Of course, many were completely devastated by the news of Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s death, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts. “You never know what someone is battling inside,” one fan tweeted. “Sometimes the happiest looking people from the outside are struggling on the inside,. RIP Twitch” actor Tommy Chong wrote.

“This has completely floored me. No one radiated more joy than this man and his beautiful, non-stop dancing family. You never know what someone is going through,” another commented. I am really so heartbroken for Allison and the kids. It was just their anniversary, it’s the holiday season. This world is so cruel. I’m so sad,” said another.
