Sting the pop culture singing legend best known for fronting the rock band The Police reveals his children will not be inheriting his $300 million fortune.

Policed frontman leaving his six children out of his will?

Starting his successful musical career with The Police before going solo Sting recently told reporters that when he dies his children can expect NOT to inherit his hard earned million dollar fortune.

The father of six explained he grew up poor and everything he has he has earned from all of his years of hard work and dedication, he states he feels his children should feel the same sense of self accomplishment.

“They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.

“Obviously, if they were in trouble I would help them, but I’ve never really had to do that. They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own merit.”

Sting wants his kids to earn their own way in life

Sting, 62, reveals that he does not want to “leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks.”

The father of six children, two from his first marriage to actress Frances Tomelty and four from his current wife Trudie Styler are all well aware that they are expected to earn their own way. However Sting also claims that by the time he passes money may not even be an issue as far as who inherits what because he spends his money as fast as he makes it these days.

“There won’t be much money left because we are spending it! We have a lot of commitments. What comes in, we spend, and there isn’t much left.”

It seems hard to believe that Sting is going through his fortune at such a fast pace in 2014 it was reported that the singer was embarking on a new tour with artist Paul Simon.

Do you believe Sting is doing a good thing by not leaving his children his money, or is there something else behind his stinginess?
