“Stranger Things” is one of the most popular television shows in recent history. The sci-fi drama is set in the 1980s and gives viewers so much nostalgia it nearly hurts. The characters are extremely likable. Who wouldn’t love a group of Dungeons and Dragons playing nerds to turn into heroes, some older high school students who put the drama aside in order to save the world, a literal superhero girl, and the parents that love and care for them?
Over the years, “Stranger Things” has gained a huge following, and it seems that there are millions of fans all over the globe. The show has really spoken to many viewers with its supernatural-like storylines, sweet relationships, and epic adventure. However, the show’s upcoming fifth season will be it’s last, and fans aren’t ready to say goodbye just yet. Of course, actor David Harbour doesn’t feel the same. The actor who plays the beloved hero Jim Hopper in the series, says he’s excited for the show to come to an end.
David Harbour says he’s happy that Stranger Things is ending
It’s not that Harbour doesn’t have a special place in his heart for Hopper and the rest of the “Stranger Things” crew. It’s just that the actor is ready to break away from his beloved character and expand his career by accepting new roles and projects following the end of the show.
“I’m excited for it to be the end because I’m excited to do other things. There’s so many other things which I wanna do and at the same time, it’s my favorite character that I’ve ever played and those guys, the Duffer brothers, are my favorite guys and they make my favorite stuff,” Harbour said about the end of “Stranger Things” during an interview with the Phase Zero podcast.
“Of course, it has a real sadness to it. The great thing is, we know it going in and it’s not something where it will come up on us and we’ll be like ‘Oh that was the last time, we got canceled.’ It’s like, we know it and so in that way, I’ll be able to pour my soul into this year of filming, or however long it’ll take to shoot eight episodes, I’ll be able to pour my soul into Jim Hopper who I’ve loved, but in a way, it’ll be a real consummation as opposed to something where I have to feel sad or all kinds of things about it and I can really just do it,” the actor added.
What’s in store for Season 5?
As for Season 5 of “Stranger Things,” fans have no idea what to expect, and are hoping that their beloved group of ragtag heroes can survive whatever the upside down has in store for them this time around. Viewers’ likely also wouldn’t mind seeing the return of Eddie Munson if the Duffer Brothers decided to bring him back in some capacity for the final season of the series.
