TV fans are looking to revisit a time in entertainment when television was simple and completely family oriented? Then let us tell you how you can travel back in time and stream The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie entire seasons on Amazon Prime Video according to People.

Family television viewing can take a nostalgic turn thanks to Amazon Prime Video which now streams in its entirety both The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. Many families these days do not have a lot of options as far as television shows that are completely G-Rated. In the 70s and 80s, families would gather around the television together each week and enjoy a full hour of wholesome drama, adventure while learning about life, survival, love, and hardships in a different era.

For those of you too young to know about these shows here is a little synopsis explaining each one. The Waltons tells the story of a large, poor family in rural Virginia and their day to day struggles to make ends meet during the Great Depression and World War II. Beginning in September 1972, the series subsequently aired on CBS for nine seasons. After the series was canceled by CBS in 1981, NBC aired three television movie sequels in 1982, with three more in the 1990s on CBS.

Classic television fans will also enjoy Little House on the Prairie. The popular series ran from 1974 to 1982 on NBC, and was based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s novels. The show is centered around the life of Laura Ingalls and her family and how faith, love and family strength saw them through all their hardships. The series is  based on her childhood and adolescence  between 1870 and 1894.

A lot of kids today may find the shows a little cheesy and dull compared to their lifestyles in 2019. However, adults believe re-watching the series with their children today will give today’s generation an idea of what kids and families did “back in the olden days” in a world where electricity, indoor plumbing, video games, cells phones and Internet were not even dreamed of.

A world where each family member was expected to learn the meaning of hard work, doing your share and believing that they were entitled to nothing that they did not work for or earn on their own.

Life sure has changed a lot, not only on television but in all general aspects of today’s world and families. Will you be streaming The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie with your family?
