Supernatural Characters That Fans Love The Most

Supernatural characters that fans love the most.

Supernatural characters are beloved by man. Meanwhile, favorites may vary, depending on who you ask, per Ranker. The series is one of the most beloved TV shows of all time. The series ran for 15 seasons and starred fan-favorite actors such as Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and more. The show followed the story of Sam and Dean Winchester as they hunted monsters like vampires, werewolves, demons, and much more.

The Winchesters learned their monster-hunting skills from their father, John. However, it was later revealed that their mother, Mary, also came from a hunting background. During the show’s decade-and-a-half run on television, Supernatural created some very memorable characters.

Supernatural characters were both good and evil

Some were heroes and others were villains. Meanwhile, some blurred the line between good and evil, making them even more interesting to viewers. We’re taking a look at the show’s best characters.

Rowena often divided Supernatural fans

Rowena was one of those Supernatural characters that blurred the line between hero and villain. Fans first met Rowena when she was revealed to be one of the most powerful witches in the world. She also happened to be the mother of former crossroads demon, Crowley.

During the series, Rowena caused a lot of trouble for the Winchesters. However, she also helped them out of many serious situations. She ended up being a huge asset and almost like family to the guys.

Jody was a surrogate mother to Sam and Dean

Jody was one of those characters that Sam and Dean met along their travels. She was let in on the monster-hunting secret and she became a hunter herself. Jody’s backstory was tragic as she lost her son and husband, but she took her pain and channeled it into something amazing.

Jody not only helped Sam and Dean along the way, she also took in wayward girls. Supernatural fans watched Jody become a surrogate mother to the Winchesters, as well as a live-in mother to Claire and Alex.

Crowley is one of the Supernatural characters fans couldn’t get enough of

During the show’s run, Crowley was one of the biggest villains. However, he was also one of the Winchester’s biggest allies. Crowley went from being a crossroads demon to the king of hell. While Lucifer was gone, Crowley saw an opportunity and ran with it.

Crowley later became a close friend of Dean when the two worked together. Of course, Sam wasn’t happy about it. However, Crowley did prove to be a huge asset to the guys. He even sacrificed himself for the greater good.

Lucifer was so bad it was good

Supernatural viewers couldn’t get enough of Lucifer. Although he was a bad guy throughout the entire series, he was often comic relief. During the series, Lucifer had many different hosts, including Sam. However, he was mostly seen in Nick’s body. Nick is the version of Lucifer that most fans think of when talking about the character.

Lucifer was so important to the series for many reasons. He helped escalate the storyline of Lucifer and Michael and in correlation Sam and Dean as their vessels. He also fathered Jack, who became a huge part of the Winchester’s life in later seasons.

Jack became family to Sam and Dean during the late seasons of Supernatural

The character of Jack was one of the most interesting to ever appear on Supernatural. The character was born after Lucifer took over the body of the President of the United States. During that time, he got intimate with one of his co-workers, Kelly. Lucifer and Kelly conceived Jack, who was born and quickly aged into a young adult.

Sam, Dean, and Castiel took care of Jack after Kelly’s death during childbirth. Mary Winchester also helped guide Jack throughout his life. Jack’s tremendous powers both helped and hurt his time with them.

Charlie was the sister Sam and Dean never had

Charlie is one of the most beloved characters in Supernatural history. She was so funny and smart and fans immediately fell in love with her. Charlie was the sister that Sam and Dean never had. They loved her and considered her not only a close friend but also family.

In addition, Charlie also represented the LGBTQ community on the show. Her death was one of the saddest in the show’s history. However, fans thankfully got to see her again in later seasons.

Bobby helped raised the Winchesters

In many ways, Bobby was the heart and soul of Supernatural. The character was a close friend of John Winchester and was also there for his sons. Sam and Dean learned to depend on Bobby over the years, and he loved them like his own children.

Bobby’s death was devastating to the Winchesters. However, fans got to see the character multiple times over the years. He was in heaven, a ghost, and also in an alternate reality.

Supernatural fans can’t get enough of Castiel

While Sam and Dean Winchester were the backbones of Supernatural, Castiel was the other main character. The guys first met “Cass” and discovered that he was an angel. Castiel, like many other angels, had some interesting views on the world. However, after spending time with the Winchesters, Castiel began to form his own opinions.

Over the years, Castiel helped and healed Sam and Dean too many times to count. However, he also caused them some pain as well. He became a brother to the men, as well as a best friend to Dean.

Sam Winchester was the practical one

Sam Winchester is one half of the iconic brotherly duo that saved the world on more than one occasion. Over the years, Sam had some struggles. He lost his soul, got addicted to demon blood, and more. He also died a number of times but returned to Dean to continue their work.

Sam was always the more practical of the brothers. He was also the best at doing research and thinking things through. Sam and Dean’s relationship is one for the books. The brothers loved each other more than life, and their devotion to each other was truly beautiful to watch during the show’s 15 seasons.

Why Dean Winchester is the best among Supernatural characters

If Sam was the brain of the operation, Dean Winchester was the muscle. Dean was emotional and often reacted before thinking about the situation. He was ruled by his feelings for sure, Supernatural fans loved him for that.

Dean loved Sam more than anything and kept his family at the center of everything he did. Dean’s issues often took center stage, but his heart was always in the right place. Of course, he had his share of rough patches like when he was possessed by Michael and when he had the mark of Cain. Dean’s humor, extreme love for his family and friends, and selflessness is the reason why he’s the fan-favorite of the series.

Supernatural has one of the best fandoms of all time, and those fans will never let the show die. They still love Sam, Dean, Castiel, and the rest of the gang and keep them alive by rewatching the series and posting on social media.
