Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship seems unshakeable from the outside. The singer and the actress have been close for years. Swift even serves as Godmother to Lively’s children, whom she shares with actor Ryan Reynolds. However, Blake is currently in the middle of a big Hollywood scandal involving her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni. The pair are suing one another for alleged misconduct on set. Baldoni’s lawsuit even dragged Swift into the mess. Now, it seems that Taylor could be taking a step back from her friendship with Blake.
According to a new blind item by Crazy Days and Nights, Taylor Swift allegedly refused to allow Blake Lively to attend the recent Kansas City Chiefs playoff game with her. Taylor was, of course, at the game to support her boyfriend, KC tight end Travis Kelce. The rumors suggest that Blake asked Taylor if she could accompany her to the game, but she declined. Instead, the singer was joined by WNBA star Caitlyn Clark.
“This A- list actress wanted to attend the big game with her very popular friend this past weekend. The friend said no. A crack in the friendship or because it would have been a distraction?” the blind item read.
AGC claims that the report is about Taylor and Blake. Of course, that has not been confirmed. The allegations suggest that Swift and Lively could have a bit of a rift stemming from the drama with Justin Baldoni. The actor/director recently released some new evidence in his lawsuit against Lively. In text messages reportedly sent to Baldoni from Lively, the “Gossip Girl” actress likened herself to Khaleesi from “Game of Thrones” and claimed that Swift and Reynolds were like her dragons, per CNN.
Did Taylor Swift Block Blake Lively From Attending Chiefs Playoff Game?
Some fans suggested via TikTok that Taylor Swift may be trying to stay out of the drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. However, others simply didn’t believe the rumors as truth.
“Taylor’s brand is very precious to her, and she does not want anything negative impacting her brand. She’s a smart businesswoman and knows how much that would hurt her reputation,” one person commented on the social media app.
“Taylor stays away from people if they make her look bad.. she doesnt want the backlash,” another wrote.
“Taylor Swift had Caitlin Clark as a guest. She was being respectful of having Caitlin as her guest,” one user suggested.
“Taylor Swift cannot associate herself with this negativity,” a fourth comment read.
Of course, Blake has accompanied Taylor to Chiefs games in the past. In addition, if the team were to make it to the Super Bowl again this year, Swift may have more of her famous friends at her side to watch the big game. If so, and Lively isn’t there, the speculation will surely mount further.
For now, it seems that Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship is still intact. However, Swifties will certainly be watching for any signs of a crack in their relationship.
