Taylor Swift Responsible For Exorcist Movie Release Date Change

Taylor Swift is a force to be reckoned with. The iconic pop star has shown just how influential she is in the past, and she’s doing it again. This time, the “Wildest Dreams” singer is responsible for this year’s most highly anticipated horror film, “Exorcist: Believer” changing its release date.

For months, fans have been looking forward to heading to the theater to watch “Exorcist: Believer” on Friday, October 13. The release date seemed deliberate as a spooky movie on Friday the 13th seems to fit. However, Swift recently announced that her “Eras Tour” movie would also be hitting theaters on the same day. Swifties know that 13 is Taylor’s favorite number, which is why she chose the date.

After the concert film broke AMC presale records and began to gain a lot of traction with fans, something had to be done. Jason Blum eventually opted to move the date of his movie up a week, revealing that it would now be released on October 6. “Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23,” Blum tweeted, adding the hashtag “Taylor Wins” to the post.

The popularity of seeing “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” as a double feature earned the name Barbenheimer by some fans. Meanwhile, others were looking forward to an Exorswift double feature. However, they’ll have to wait until the 13th if they want to watch both films in one day. If not, it will be a trip to the theater two weeks in a row to watch “Exorcist: Believer” and Taylor Swift‘s “Eras Tour” film.

Will you do an Exorswift double feature?

For fans looking to plan their trips to the theater, they should know that both films are lengthy. Blum’s horror movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes. The movie stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Olivia Marcum, and Lidya Jewett. Ellen Burstyn also reprises her role of Chris MacNeil from the original film. Meanwhile, Swift’s concert movie is even longer. The Eras Tour film is nearly an hour longer, per Us Weekly. So be ready for some serious movie-watching in October.

Taylor Swift fans and horror fanatics will have to co-exist together at the theater this fall. However, it could be fun to do a bit of a crossover to mix things up. However you’re planning to celebrate “Exorswift,” it’s sure to be a great and profitable time at the box office.
