The Bachelor stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have split. The couple officially called it quits after over a year of dating. The reality TV pair confirmed the sad news by releasing a statement to People magazine.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways. We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”
Rumors of Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell’s split have been circulating for months. Back in February Lauren took off for a trip to Nashville without her fiance, and later spent her 27th birthday in Punta Mita, Mexico with her girlfriends. Fans noticed Higgins’ absence, and also that Bushnell didn’t seem to be wearing the gorgeous Neil Lane engagement ring that was given to her by Ben during the Season 20 finale of The Bachelor.
Previously, sources have told Us Weekly magazine that Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell were not getting along, and that although Ben is “a great guy,” the two really needed to end their relationship.
“They don’t get along. She’s told people recently how hard it is,” “He’s a great guy, but they should split.”
Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell first met while filming Season 20 of The Bachelor, and after getting engaged landed their own spin-off reality series on FreeForm titled Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?.
Now that Ben and Lauren are no longer together, fans can’t help but wonder if either one of them will appear on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise. We know there is at least one vacancy now that Chris Soules will no longer be appearing on the reality dating series.
