The Bad Batch season two is about to release and fans are wondering how they plan on tying it into the greater Star Wars galaxy. With season two set to start airing tomorrow (Jan 4th) let us look back at season one.
We are first introduced to Clone Force 99 in the seventh and final season of Star Wars the Clone Wars. Clone Force 99 also known as The Bad Batch is a group of mutated clone troopers. Each member has their own mutation.
Some Backstory on The Bad Batch
After being unaffected by Order 66 The Bad Batch goes rogue and lives on the run with their new teammate Omega. Omega is a pure unaltered clone of Jango Fett and her mutation is that she is a female.
The Bad Batch takes Omega in as one of them after she says it is not safe on her home planet of Kamino. The Empire then sends bounty hunters after the young girl. This is where we start to see some connection to the greater Star Wars Galaxy.
The Bounty Hunter we see go after Omega is none other than Cad Bane and Fennec Shand. Bane is known for his ruthlessness in the Clone Wars animated show. While Fennec was first seen in The Mandalorian and The Book Of Boba Fett. The Bad Batch producers recently revealed how they are when it comes to piercing together Star Wars cannon for the show.
How Will they connect with other Star Wars shows?
According to We Got This Covered, The Bad Batch may not be closely related to Disney Plus shows like Obi-Wan and Andor. However, they still have an effect on those shows. Meanwhile, the storyline for the animated series may also be closely related to something that fans have yet to see, such as new projects in the works.
Although The Bad Batch season one was looked over by most of the Star Wars community. We should be prepared for a great season two. From what can be seen in the trailer it looks like this season will be more action-packed. First off, we will be seeing the Wookie Jedi from The Clone Wars. Second, we will finally be seeing Commander Cody again. The Bad Batch season two looks like it is shaping up to be the best one yet.
