The Mandalorian Season 2 had the return of a fan-favorite character in Boba Fett. Temuera Morrison, the same actor who played Jango Fett in Attack Of The Clones made his long-awaited return to Star Wars to play the son of the legendary bounty hunter Jango Fett.
In the season finale of The Mandalorian, there is an after-credits scene where Boba and his associate Fennec Shand are flying over a familiar desert planet with twin suns. The two bounty hunters land and enter Jabba the Hutt’s palace where Bib Fortuna has assumed the role of leader after Jabba’s death.
Fennec and Boba then proceed to kill the guards and eventually Fortuna as Boba Fett sits on what was once Jabba’s chair and then seemingly takes control of Jabba crime organization. Many fans speculate that this will be where The Book Of Boba Fett will begin.
According to Screen Rant “The Book of Boba Fett essentially can be considered ‘The Mandalorian season 2.5′ due to the connections that will be present. It will feature mystery Mandalorian characters in undisclosed roles”.
‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ will tie into ‘The Mandalorian’
As The Mandalorian was a huge success Disney is firing off spin-off shows including Kenobi and Ahsoka. At first glance, it seemed The Book Of Boba Fett was completely separate from The Mandalorian and the Ashoka show. However, according to recent information, the plan is for the shows to be very closely connected.
It will be very interesting to see if the show Rangers Of The New Republic had anything to do with the new show’s close connections. Rangers Of The New Republic was announced with Ashoka last December with the idea that the shows would work with The Mandalorian. With the cancellation of Rangers perhaps some ideas of the shows working together will be put into The Book Of Boba Fett instead.
It should be very exciting to see how some of The Mandalorian characters show up in The Book Of Boba Fett. For example, we may see the Mandalorian himself Din Djarin or we might see Bo-Katan leader of a group who wants to retake Mandalore, the homeworld of the Mandalorians. We might even see the former Jedi padawan of Anakin Skywalker Ashoka Tano.
No matter who we see or how the shows are connected as fans we can not wait to see what Disney has in store with these new shows especially for the fan-favorite characters like Ashoka Tano and Boba Fett. But for now, we can only hope and wait.
