The Cleveland Browns can still make a playoff push! With their victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, they kept their playoff hopes alive for now. Although time is running out for the Cleveland Browns they got some help last Sunday.

First, that help came in the form of two losses by the Jets and the Patriots. Second, Cleveland also took a hit in the form of wins by the Chargers and the Jaguars. As such, The Cleveland Browns still only have a one percent chance to make the playoffs according to WKYC.com

A Tough Spot For Cleveland

Again, the Cleveland Browns find themselves in the hunt for a wildcard spot. After getting eliminated from the AFC North contention by the Cincinnati Bengals. With that being said, let’s take a look at the current playoff picture. First off we will look at the division leaders. We got in order the Bills, the Chiefs, the Bengals, and the Titans.

Second off, is the wildcard race. In order, we have the Ravens, the Chargers, and the Dolphins. The Browns are currently in a four-way tie for the 6th spot. As the Jaguars, the Raiders, the Steelers, and the Browns all have a record of 6-8.

As far as records and tie-breakers go the Cleveland Browns find themselves behind four teams for the final AFC wildcard spot. Any road that leads the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs will not matter if the Browns do not win out the rest of the season. The next time the Browns would lose will officially eliminate them from playoff contention.

A Long Road

So how could Cleveland climb into the wildcard? In addition to winning their last three games, the Browns need five of the following seven things to happen for a Cleveland Browns playoff push.

  1. Raiders go 2-1 or worse
  2. Ravens go 0-3
  3. Jets go 1-2 or worse
  4. Jaguars go 2-1 or worse or Titans go 2-1 or worse
  5. Chargers go 0-3
  6. Dolphins go 0-3

It is also worth mentioning that even if the Cleveland Browns win on the 24th they could still be eliminated. The way they could still not make the playoffs even if they beat the Saints is if all of the following happen.

  • Raven beat the Falcons
  • Chargers beat Colts
  • Patriots beat Colts

The Browns are held as favorites for their next three games as they will play the Saints, the Commanders, and the Steelers. Although it will not be an easy path if the stars align the Cleveland Browns could squeeze into the playoffs in a wildcard spot.
