The Mandalorian was a huge hit for the newfound Disney+ streaming service in 2019, and fans are dying to know when Season 2 will be released.
According to Pop Culture, following the success of The Mandalorian, Disney announced that a second second would be happening sometime in late 2020. Now, there is a more clear timeline for the return of the very first live action Star Wars television series.
The Mandalorian Season 2 news
On Tuesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that show would premiere its sophomore season sometime in October of this year, giving fans a thrill to know a timetable, yet disappointment that they’ll have to wait about eight months to see what happens after that wild Darksaber cliffhanger left everyone in awe.
Of course, the star of the show has been a character that’s been dubbed “Baby Yoda.” The little guy is a tiny creature that appears to be the same species as the iconic character, Yoda. The baby alien is not only the most adorable thing to grace a television screen, but also hilarious with his use of The Force, cute facial expressions, and knack for getting the title character in trouble, as well as saving the day.
More Baby Yoda please!
Fans are dying to know where Baby Yoda came from, what his powers are exactly, and how he’ll play into the Star Wars universe. Could he be related to Yoda, or even a clone of the ultimate Jedi master? These are questions that viewers need answered!
Meanwhile, Disney+ also has other Star Wars related shows in the works, including a highly anticipated series that will focus on fan favorite character Obi Wan Kenobi.
Ewan McGregor, who played the character in the prequel films, is set to reprise his role as Obi Wan. The show is thought to be a record of what Obi Wan may have been up to during the time after the events of Revenge Of The Sith, which featured him maiming Anakin Skywalker (who later turns into Darth Vader), and A New Hope, where fans meet Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo for the first time.
A release date for the Obi Wan Kenobi show has yet to be revealed. For now, it looks like Star Wars fans will have to countdown the days until The Mandalorian returns in October.
