With Disney Plus day and D23 now said and done the public has now seen a handful of trailers that were shown at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. One of those trailers being for The Mandalorian Season 3.
The Mandalorian was the first of the Star Wars TV series to be made for Disney Plus. It featured a cold and ruthless Mandalorian bounty hunter that goes by the name of Din Djarin. Din then goes on to find a very familiar-looking child who happens to be of the same kind of race as the legendary Jedi Grand Master Yoda.
With Mando and Grogu (Baby Yoda) back together after the events of The Book Of Boba Fett, they will now go on a new quest. After Din’s decision to remove his helmet at the end of Season 2 he has fallen into bad terms with the armorer who would be the head of The Children Of The Watch which is Din Djarin’s clan or as some call it his cult.
Mando has now been disowned by his clan and branded as a non-Mandalorian. As you can see in the trailer linked here.
The bad blood between Bo and Din?
With Din being the wielder of the fabled Dark Saber this seems to be an issue between him and Bo-Katan as she once held a false claim to the blade that led Mandalore to ruins by the hand of the Galactic Empire. The DarkSaber must be won in combat; it is not simply given, it must be earned.
After Bo-Katan accepted the blade from Sabine Wren as a gift she rallied many Mandalorian clans under her to resist the Empire. Bo-Katan is now used as a cautionary tale of how dangerous a false claim to the Dark Saber can be.
It seems that this season of The Mandalorian will be a very straightforward one focusing heavily on the main story. Many fans will agree that a no-nonsense season would be a great idea for Disney and Lucasfilm as some fans are getting sick of the “Disney touch” in Star Wars. Fans want less cute and funny moments and more action and better storytelling.
A more serious season?
Will this new season of The Mandalorian be what the fans want? Or will it be obviously a Disney show? Only time will tell as we will have to wait a few more months for Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Mando and Grugo are set to be back in action sometime in early 2023 and fans can not wait to see their new favorite father-son duo.
