The Mandalorian Season 3: Why Are Din and Grogu Reunited?

Din Djarin in his N1 Naboo starfighter with Grogu

The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer shows Din Djarin and Grogu back in action, but many fans are wondering why Din and Grogu reunited. The finale episode of Season 2 of the Mandalorian had Luke Skywalker taking Grogu to be trained as a Jedi. So why in The Mandalorian Season 3 will he be back with Din Djarin?

With Grogu going with Luke, Din’s quest was over and he was free to go back to doing whatever he wanted. It made sense for Din who now possesses The Darksaber to move on from Grogu and take on his new responsibilities.

Mandalorian Season 2.5

Well if you watched The Book Of Boba Fett you already know what Din and Grogu are back at it. If you haven’t watched TBOB, basically Luke gave Grogu a choice. He could either pick a lightsaber and train to become a Jedi. Or He could pick the armor Mando made for him and return to Din Djarin. With Grogu and Din’s bond being so strong it was an obvious choice for the little green foundling.

According to Forbes.com, The Book Of Boba Fett is basically The Mandalorian Season 2.5. With Din and Grogu back together, what kind of adventures will the two get into now? Well from what we get in the latest trailer. In The Mandalorian Season 3, it seems like Din will go to Mandalore. Mandalore is the homeworld of all Mandalorians. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by the Galactic Empire during The Night of A Thousand tears.

The trailers are also setting up Bo-Katan to be a possible “villain” for The Mandalorian Season 3. Bo has always wanted to rule Mandalore and without The Darksaber that is pretty much impossible. What will Bo-Katan do to get The Darksaber from Din? Will Din have other Mandalorians start to follow him?

Will Din Rule Mandalore?

It will be very interesting to see if Din Djarin will take on the role of Ruler of Mandalore. At first, he didn’t want The Darksaber. All he wanted was to save Grogu. After he defeated Moff Gideon, The Darksabre became Din Djarin’s.

Now with Grogu back at his side will Din take the Mandalorian throne in order to keep Grogu safe? Is that why he could enlist the help of other Mandalorians? Only time will tell as we all get ready for the release of The Mandalorian Season 3. Mando Season 3 is set to air on Disney Plus on March 1st, 2023.
