Who doesn’t love “The Office?” The show is one of the most beloved TV shows of all time. The series starred Steve Carrell as Michael Scott, John Krasinski as Jim Halpert, Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly, Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute, as well as Mindy Kaling, BJ Novak, Angela Kinsey, Brian Baumgartner, Ed Helms, and more.
Longtime fans have often wondered if “The Office” would ever return for a revival, reunion, or reboot. When NBC announced their streaming service, Peacock, which is where fans can now rewatch the original series, viewers got excited that there may be an “Office” project in the future. Now, the network says they completely approve of an “Office” reboot, but there is one condition.
Susan Rover, NBCU content chief, recently told Deadline that the show’s creator, Greg Daniels would have to be involved in any new project revolving around the series. “Whenever Greg Daniels wants to do one, we’re standing by,” Rovner said.

A reboot of ‘The Office’ could happen
Earlier this year, Daniels revealed that there were no new “Office” projects in development, but that it was possible for the future. “It’s not impossible for sure,” he said. “I would want to be involved, and I’ve got two other shows I’m working on right now.”
Meanwhile, Steve Carell has said in the past that he didn’t think he would ever step back into Michael Scott’s shoes for a new project, per Pop Culture.
“I feel like I’m a broken record, talking about this because I get asked about it,” he told Collider. “The show is way more popular now than when it was on the air. I just can’t see it being the same thing, and I think most folks would want it to be the same thing, but it wouldn’t be. Ultimately, I think it’s maybe best to leave well enough alone and just let it exist as what it was. You’d literally have to have all of the same writers, the same producers, the same directors, and the same actors, and even with all of those components, it just wouldn’t be the same”
