“The Summer I Turned Pretty” cast members are now opening up bout Belly’s big choice in the Season 2 finale. In the final episode of the sophomore season of the Amazon Prime series, Belly gave into her emotions and rekindled her romance with younger Fisher brother, Jeremiah. Now, actress Lola Tung is revealing her thoughts on Belly and Jeremiah‘s new lease on love.
“I felt good about that decision in that moment, because for Belly in that moment that is the person who is showing up for her in the way that she needs someone to,” Tung told Entertainment Tonight. “In like episode six, we see that when Conrad and Belly have a fight on the beach, that she really would have fought for that relationship and… from her point of view, it doesn’t seem like he would fight for it the same way,” she added.

“The Summer I Turned Pretty” star also admitted that Belly feels more heard and appreciated by Jeremiah. Of course, her love for Conrad (Christopher Briney) is always there. However, Belly’s ready for something new and exciting. “I think she’s found someone who she loves, and who will fight for her and her relationship, and who makes her happy,” Tung said. “So I think in that moment, it’s absolutely the right thing for her.”
Meanwhile, Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah on the series, says that Belly’s decision is right for her. The actor reveals that many fans have been waiting to see Belly and Jeremiah together for two seasons. Now they’ll get to see what their relationship could be like. In addition, Casalegno claims that if Belly follows her heart she can’t go wrong.

As for the rest of the cast members, Sean Kauffman (Steven Conklin) says he’s Team Belly all the way. However, Steven’s on-screen love interest Rain Spener (Taylor Jewel) is totally Team Jeremiah, just like her character. David Iacono (Cam Cameron) reveals that Jeremiah is the obvious safe choice for Belly. In reality, Iacono says he’d urge Belly towards Jeremiah. However, as a fan of the show, he’s all about Belly and Conrad.
In addition, Elsie Fisher, who played the role of Skye on the series, reveals that she’s Team Conrad. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” moms Jackie Chung (Laurel Park) and Rachel Blanchard (Suzannah Fisher) both refuse to choose between the two brothers.
