“The Summer I Turned Pretty” Season 2 featured some highly romantic moments. From Belly and Conrad’s steamy winter night at the Cousins beach house to her makeout session with Jeremiah, there wasn’t a lack of spice. However, the sweetest relationship moments during the sophomore season of the show weren’t romantic in any way.
Throughout Season 2, fans watched Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) grapple with her feelings for Fisher brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). All the while, Belly and her brother Steven (Sean Kaufman) were building their sibling bond as well. In the first episode of the season, it’s clear that Belly and Steven have some unresolved feelings about the past year. They are both mourning Suzannah’s (Rachel Blanchard) death and the loss of their closeness with Conrad and Jeremiah. They even get into a huge public fight at Steven’s graduation party.

However, when Steven finds out that Belly and Jeremiah hit the road to find Conrad, he eagerly wanted to join his sister and friends. So, Steven and Taylor jumped in the car and headed to the beach house as well. During the teens’ parent-free week in Cousins, Belly went back and forth about Conrad and Jeremiah. All the while, her bond with Steven appeared to grow.
“It’s really beautiful to see Steven and Belly a little bit later into the season, maybe, like, Episode 3 or 4, when Steven gets to the summer house, and Belly just says to him, ‘I’m glad you’re here,'” Tung said during an interview with Collider. “They do need each other, and they do lean on each other, even if it’s in smaller ways like that. It’s important to be there for each other, and I think they both need that,” she explained.
The Summer I Turned Pretty: Sean Kaufman is Team Belly all the way
Steven finally began to see Belly as the young woman she was becoming, and the time they spent together trying to save the house only brought them closer together. While Steven has made it clear that he’s rooting for Conrad, in reality, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” star Kaufman says he’s totally Team Belly.
“Sean is very hard to distinguish from Steven sometimes, being an older brother myself. So Sean is always and will be Team Belly, which I know ain’t the answer people want to hear, but I, as an older brother, just want my little sis to be happy,” he told the outlet. “And whoever that is, whether it’s nobody or somebody, I just want you to be happy,” the actor added.
While the love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah took center stage, the relationships between Steven and Taylor and Skye and Cam were also great supporting storylines. However, Belly and her brother Steven growing closer throughout the episodes was one of the best moments of “The Summer I Turned” Pretty Season 2.
