“The Summer I Turned Pretty” has viewers completely divided. Some fans want the lead character Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) to choose Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). However, others want to see her end up with Jeremiah’s older brother, Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney). Whether fans are Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad, Belly can only end up with one Fisher brother, and Conrad just might be the right choice.
Jeremiah has plenty of great qualities. He and Belly are best friends, easily laugh together, and have no problem opening up the lines of communication. They even have intense chemistry together (Did you see that kiss?) However, when it comes to Belly’s longtime love, it’s always going to be Conrad. In many ways, Conrad is Belly’s perfect match, even if their history is filled with heartbreak and conflict.
The Summer I Turned Pretty: Conrad Is The Better Choice For Belly
Many “The Summer I Turn Pretty” fans would agree that Conrad seems to know Belly on a deeper level than Jeremiah does. While Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship is all about fun, she and Conrad had something more profound. Their conversations touched on heavy subjects and they trusted each other with their most vulnerable feelings. In the Season 2 penultimate episode, Conrad even knew exactly what Belly needed (his Brown hoodie) before she was able to speak it out loud, proving that he’s in tune with her feelings.
Unfortunately for Conard, he’s not great at expressing his feelings. In the past, he assumed that Belly knew what he was thinking and feeling. Of course, that led to arguments, misunderstandings, and broken hearts. Their relationship was complicated and more work than what Belly has with Jeremiah. However, in his private moments, Conrad has shown that he’s head over heels for Belly even if he doesn’t open up about his feelings.
Belly, Conrad & Jeremiah will be back for TSITP Season 3
Team Conrad fans likely won’t be happy with what comes next for him, Belly, and Jeremiah. However, in Season 3 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” all will be revealed and fans who haven’t read the book series will finally get to see who Belly ends up with. The intense love triangle isn’t over yet, and there is still so much to the story to explore.
In addition, fans are also hoping for updates and happy endings for the supporting characters such as Belly’s mother Laurel, her brother Steven and best friend Taylor, The Fisher brothers’ cousin Skye, and of course Cam Cameron.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” has a lot more to offer fans, but waiting for Season 3 is going to be gut-wrenching for many viewers, whether they want to see Belly with Conrad or Jeremiah.
