‘The Twilight Saga’ to continue

According to the NY Times, “The Twilight Saga” execs and author Stephenie Meyer announced that they will chose five female directors to direct short films based on the “Twilight” characters, and release them exclusively to Facebook.

“We think Facebook is a great way for us to introduce the world of ‘Twilight’ to a whole new audience while re-energizing existing fans,” Michael Burns, Lions Gate’s vice chairman, said in an interview.

“This is the just the beginning — a template, if you will,” Burns added. “You can probably guess what might be coming next,” he said getting “Twilight” fans (aka “Twihards) excited at the possibility of a sixth movie.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner likely no involved in ‘Twilight’ short films

However, don’t expect to see Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, or Taylor Lautner, as they likely won’t be starring in the short films about “The Twilight Saga,” and no main focus or character information has been released.
