‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 2 — ‘Yellow Ledbetter’

Matt calls out Jeremy for bringing the girl Elena attacked home with him for a hook up. Meanwhile, Stefan tries to let his guard down to his new love interest, Ivy, and invites her for dinner.

All the while, Elena is getting rid of all traces of Damon in her life, meaning his clothes, photos, and more so that she can be compelled to forget about him. Elena then tells Jeremy about Alaric compelling her, and asks him to be on board with the plan.

Caroline learns that Enzo has been trying very hard to figure out a way to help Bonnie and Damon, and he’s been romancing a witch to get some info, but is interrupted when Caroline comes to visit him. The two of them chase a lead together, but first go to meet Stefan, who is surprised to see them at his house.

Later, Caroline finds out that Stefan has completely cut her and the rest of the gang out of his life. Enzo then decides to make Stefan pay every time he gets distracted from finding Damon and Bonnie, and kills Ivy in front of him.

The two join the couple for dinner and things turn awkward when they start talking about Elena, witches, and the supernatural.

Finally, Enzo’s had enough and he and Stefan fight over Stefan’s willingness to give up on finding his own brother.

Alaric and Elena get started with the compelling, and he begins altering her memories to erase Damon from her mind. Elena remembers everything about Damon from their first meeting to their crazy love story’s biggest moments.

Finally, after failing to forget Damon, Elena decides to quit the compelling. Finally, Alaric realizes that she can’t forget Damon because she’s not being honest about the moment she fell in love with Damon, because she was with Stefan during that time.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ recap — Oct. 9, 2014

Elena tells Alaric that she knew she loved Damon when it was her birthday, and she was still with Stefan. Alaric then takes the memory away, and Elena forgets her love for Damon.

Bonnie and Damon wander the streets of the fake Mystic Falls and find very interesting clues such as cars that are over 20 years old, but look brand new, and a newspaper that reads 1994. Bonnie thinks that her Grams set it up for her to find peace, and that she took Damon with her, but that magic should be able to get them out of them.

Bonnie goes around to her old house and her Grams to find some interesting things, such as her Grams spell book, which taught her a lot about magic, and tells Damon she plans to try and re-teach herself magic. Soon the duo realize they are living the exact same day over and over again, May 10, 1994.

Months later, Bonnie and Damon are still in 1994 Mystic Falls and cannot figure out how to get themselves out of their own private Hell, and soon realize there is someone else there with them, but who?
