“The Walking Dead” Season 7 hasn’t even started yet, and fans are already gearing up for Season 8. The hit AMC zombie series has officially been renewed for another season, and viewers couldn’t be more excited about the big news, although it was not unexpected.
‘The Walking Dead’ renewed for Season 8 by AMC
According to TV Line, “The Walking Dead” Season 8 will again consist of 16 episodes with a mid-season break after the eighth episode. The season will debut in the fall of 2017 with the show’s big 100th episode. In addition, Scott M. Gimple will return to the series as the showrunner.
The Season 8 renewal also marks big news for Chris Hardwicke, as his after show, “Talking Dead” has also been picked up for another season on the network. The show, which has become a form of therapy and comic relief for fans, has become a Sunday night staple for “Walking Dead” viewers.
Season 7 Premiere Set To Be Intense
Meanwhile, everyone is buzzing about “The Walking Dead” Season 7 premiere, which finally debuts on Sunday at 9 p.m. The conclusion to the big Season 6 finale cliffhanger will finally be answered as fans have been waiting for what seems like an eternity to find out which beloved character Negan brutally killed. While many fans have their money on Glenn and/or Abraham, it seems everyone is worried that their favorite character could be saying goodbye in the season opener on Sunday. Viewers are keeping their fingers crossed that their favorites will pull through and live to see another day.
