This ‘Star Wars’ Actor Wants To Join ‘Bridgerton’

'Bridgerton' Season 2 spoilers will push boundaries.

Will the worlds of “Star Wars” and “Bridgerton” collide? It may sound like a strange combination, but one “Star Wars” actor says he wouldn’t mind joining the Netflix hit period drama.

Actor John Boyega, who played Finn in the most recent trilogy, says that he wants to join the “Bridgerton” cast for a future season, especially since the show’s breakout star Rege-Jean Page has announced that he’s not returning for Season 2.

During a conversation with Page, Boyega recently pitched himself for a role in the series, revealing that he could be written in as a new guy in town.

“I’m trying to get that Bridgerton money, man. I need to wear them skintights,” Boyega said, per We Got This Covered. “I need to be the new guy up in there… But, honestly, something like that. Give me a horse and a lovely maiden and all of that.”

Page then jokingly revealed that he didn’t make as much from “Bridgerton” as Boyega did from his work on “Star Wars.” Boyega then replied, “Tell you what, I’ll have that ‘Star Wars’ money, you can have the ‘Bridgerton’ money,” the actor said.

John Boyega wants to replace Rege-Jean Page on ‘Bridgerton’

Even though Page’s steamy character, The Duke of Hastings, won’t be featured in Season 2 of the Netflix show the series won’t be lacking for handsome men. In fact, the next season is set to focus on Daphne’s brother, Anthony Bridgerton, played by Johnathan Bailey.

Season 2 is set to follow the happenings of Julia Quinn’s second book in the “Bridgerton” series, titled “The Viscount Who Loved Me,” which features Anthony looking to settle down and find a wife. Although Page isn’t returning, his on-screen wife Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, will be back. Daphne will reportedly help her brother Anthony navigate the social season and find love.

Currently, there is no release date set for “Bridgerton” Season 2, and it doesn’t seem likely that John Boyega will be cast in the series. However, if the show’s execs were included to offer the actor a role, he may bring with him a few “Star Wars” fans.
