Tiger Woods Injured In L.A. Car Crash, Jaws Of Life Used To Rescue Golfer

Tiger Woods injured in car accident, jaws of life used.

Tiger Woods has been rushed to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center following a single-car crash on Tuesday at 7:12 A.M. TMZ reports the golfer was traveling alone on Hawthorne Boulevard when he crashed his vehicle.

The golfer’s car apparently crossed the southbound lanes before rolling several times coming to rest at the bottom of a hill.

Upon arriving on the scene officials discovered Eldrick “Tiger’ Woods, trapped inside his vehicle. The ‘jaws of life’ was used by Los Angeles rescuers to extract the pro-golfer from the vehicle.

Tiger Woods suffers multiple injuries

At this time, officials reveal that the cause of the accident is not known and under investigation.  L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. reveal they do not believe alcohol was involved but did not state whether any other substance was possibly involved.

Officials reveal that Woods was traveling north on Hawthorne Boulevard and Blackhorse Road when the crash occurred. According to Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, the golfer suffered “multiple” leg injuries.

“He is currently in surgery,” Steinberg told Golf Digest, “and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

Tiger was in California this week for a two-day content shoot with Golf Digest/GOLFTV after serving as host for the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational over the weekend.

Woods’ reveals back injuries could keep him from competing in Georgia

The golfer also reveals he is awaiting MRI test results before returning to practice and competition. He adds there is a possibility he may miss the upcoming Masters’ tournament in August, Georgia.

“I’m feeling fine,” Woods said. “I’m a little bit stiff. I have one more MRI scheduled so that we’ll see if the annulus [fibrosis] is scarred over finally and see if I can start doing more activities. But still in the gym, still doing the mundane stuff that you have to do for rehab, the little things before I can start gravitating towards something a little more.”

Last December, Tiger Woods underwent a microdiscectomy procedure to remove a pressurized disc fragment. It was his fifth back surgery overall and the first since his spinal fusion in April 2017.
