Metal rock star sentenced to prison for murder plot
Timothy Lambesis the member of the metal rock band As I Lay Dying has been sentenced to six-years in prison for plotting murder.
Lambesis,33, is best known for being the lead singer of the metal band As I Lay Dying was sentenced to prison on Friday in San Diego County after he pled guilty to soliciting murder and plotting to kill his wife.
Rock star murder plot back fires
Timothy Lambesis was charged after authorities claim he hired an undercover sheriff’s detective to kill his wife Megan Lambesis in 2013.
The As I Lay dying singer claims that his wife had restricted his visits with his children following their separation, he also stated his wife was receiving the majority of his income in the divorce settlement as support.
His attorney said Timothy Lambesis acted out of character and the behavior was sparked by steroid use.
As I Lay Dying is best known for their fourth studio album An Ocean Between Us which reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200, and No. 1 on the Top Rock chart.
All of the band members were harshly effected by Lambesis’ arrest each deciding to focus on a different style of music under a different band name, Wovenwar, with Shane Blay as the vocalist.
