Travis Kelce opens up about his high-profile romance with Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce didn’t hold back when it came to sharing his admiration for Taylor Swift in an interview with WSJ Magazine. The football star admitted that he and the “Love Story” singer connected after a mutual friend helped play “cupid” for him.
Kelce also admitted that his first date with Swift wasn’t after her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September. Instead, the duo had a dinner before she made her infamous appearance in his suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
“When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there,” he said.

Kelce says he’s in awe of Swift and her level of fame
Travis Kelce is one of the most recognizable figures in sports. He’s won two Super Bowls and can be seen in several TV commercials. However, when it comes to fame, he knows he’s got nothing on Taylor Swift. However, he says that’s not stopping him from living his life with his new love interest.
“I’m not running away from any of it. The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange,” Kelce stated.
The tight end continued to gush over Swift, saying that the singer is both “hilarious” and “a genius.” He also admitted that he loves her devotion to her family, which also mirrors his values.
“Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” he said. “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”
Are Travis and Taylor endgame?
Many fans think Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are endgame. There are even theories that they’ll end up married. While only time will tell if they pair can go the distance, it seems that the football player is all in when it comes to the romance.
Meanwhile, Kelce and Swift’s friends, like Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, are also on board with the relationship. It appears that the hype surrounding the romance isn’t dying down anytime soon.
