Val Kilmer to join Tom Cruise in ‘Top Gun’ sequel?

Val Kilmer has revealed that he has been offered the opportunity to join his pal Tom Cruise in the upcoming “Top Gun” sequel. Kilmer gushed to fans on Facebook Tuesday of his excitement.

“I just got offered #‎topgun2 – not often you get to say ‘yes’ without reading the script,” Kilmer, 55, wrote. Teasing fans with the news today, Val sparked plenty of excitement on the social media. Val also shared some professional words of wisdom stating that an actor should always say ‘yes’ when they have the option to work with Cruise, Gene Hackman, and Francis Coppola, but later clarified that Coppola and Hackman are not involved in the project. He also gave a shout-out to the late Tony Scott, who directed the first film.

“We will all miss Tony Scott one of the kindest gentlemen I’ve ever met in the film biz, but let’s fire up some fighter jets again!!!” Kilmer wrote.  Kilmer starred in 1986’s “Top Gun” alongside Tom Cruise (Maverick), Kelly McGillis (Charlie), and Anthony Edwards (Goose).
This is very exciting for Val and “Top Gun” fans. However, many fans can’t help but wonder if Val’s health is up to a grueling film schedule.

As previously reported, Val Kilmer has sparked health issue concerns in June for the fans of the 55-year-old actor after he was spotted leaving church wearing two scarves to cover his neck and face and looking thin and in questionable health.

Val Kilmer Healthy Enough For ‘Top Gun 2?’

Val Kilmer was also carrying what many has described as a medical type bag with him. This is not the first time this year Kilmer’s health has come into question. At the beginning of the year, Val was rushed to the hospital after he was reportedly coughing up blood. Talk began to surface that the actor was battling a cancerous throat tumor. Kilmer however, denied all health rumors.
