‘Virgin River’ leaves fans with a shocking cliffhanger
Mel grabbed a towel from the bar and begin to apply pressure. However, Jack was losing blood quickly. The shocking scene concluded Season 2, and left viewers with a ton of questions. So, who shot Jack?
Although Virgin River Season 3 has officially been announced by Netflix, fans likely won’t see new episodes for months. Until then, we’re left to speculate about what happened to the ruggedly handsome bar owner, Jack.
There are a few people who may have wanted Jack dead. So, lets begin with the obvious. The town’s infamous drug dealer, Calvin, could be behind the shooting. He may have done it himself, or even sent one of his henchmen to do the deed.
Who shot jack?
Jack has been a thorn in Calvin’s side since the beginning of the series. Although many people in Virgin River know about Calvin’s operation, they try to keep out of his business for fear of becoming a target.
Calvin has proved just how ruthless he can be in the past. So, killing Jack would be just another day at the office for him. However, he’s previously backed down from harming Jack due to the weight he carries in the small town.
Things may have changed at the end of Season 2 when Jack went to the police about Calvin’s shady business dealings. The police then decided to raid the operation, which could have set Calvin off.
In addition, Jack’s former army buddy, Brady, may have also been the shooter. Brady and Jack butted heads throughout most of Seasons 1 and 2. Jack gave Brady a job at his bar in hopes of keeping him legit. However, once Calvin got his hooks in him it all went downhill.
Brady redeemed himself in the final episodes of Season 2 when it was revealed that he spared the life of one of Calvin’s men. He also tried to keep Mel out of harm’s way when she showed up to confront him at the logging business owned by Calvin.
However, Brady was set to be arrested by the police after Jack’s buddy intervened. Brady may have gotten wind of the arrest and looked to get revenge on his former friend.

An unexpected suspect?
The most shocking suspect in Jack’s shooting may be Charmaine. Charmaine is currently pregnant with Jack’s twins. The pair had a long relationship that Jack opted to keep casual, but she wanted more. When she found out she was pregnant she tried to push him into something more serious. However, his heart has been with Mel since the day she moved to Virgin River.
Although Charmaine loves Jack, she has seemingly been losing her cool with his unwillingness to commit to her. After finding out that Jack and Mel made their relationship official. It’s possible that she may have snapped.
Virgin River Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.
