“Welcome to Plathville” mom Kim Plath has been reportedly sneaking around with her new boyfriend, Ken Palmer, for a few months before deciding to tell her kids she was dating again. But now that she feels her relationship is getting more serious, she decides it is time to tell the kids, and she is starting with her son Isaac Plath.
Welcome to Plathville: Kim Has the Talk with Isaac
Kim Plath feels she has some explaining about her new boyfriend, Ken Palmer. Especially when it comes to her youngest son, Isaac Plath. Now that Kim has received the green light from Ken, he feels they have a future together. So now it is time to alert the family.
So Kim wants to start with Isaac. She feels obligated to share her news with him first. This is because, for one, Ken and Isaac are very close. Isaac has worked for him, and Ken is also his flight instructor. Not to mention, he also just helped Kim buy a plane for Isaac.
Isaac looks like he can tell something is up with his mom. The “Welcome to Plathville” sibling also looks nervous. She tells him she wants to talk to him about a few things. One can only imagine what is going through her son’s mind at this time. Especially after she shocked him a couple of episodes ago, telling him they could both get dates and fly off for a romantic getaway.
Kim Plath should know that that offer would creep her son out. But she is ready to come clean with her son once and for all. Isaac doesn’t look surprised when she tells him she is dating Ken.
Isaac Tells Kim He Suspected Something Was Up
The “Welcome to Plathville” mom seems a little disappointed that Isaac Plath was not as shocked by her news as she thought he would be. But, as previously reported, TLC fans have suspected all along that Ken and Kim have allegedly been sneaking around together longer than either of them has admitted.
If fans noticed the strange behavior between Ken and Kim during the plane-buying episode, then Kim should be so surprised that her teenage son caught on to their weird vibes as well. In case you didn’t notice, a strange interaction between Kim and Ken took place. During their greeting at around 17:36 into the show.
Isaac greets Ken Palmer with a friendly handshake, and Kim looks to raise her arm as if she is going in for a hug, but then Ken quickly shakes her hand. It seems like there is a brief moment but a noticeable amount of uncomfortableness.
Welcome to Plathville: Kim Puts Isaac on the Spot
Kim Plath of “Welcome to Plathville” continues her talk with Isaac Plath and asks if he has any questions. During his confessional, he is uncomfortable with his mother’s news. He also admits he doesn’t know what to think or say about it.
But what seems to make it even worse for Isaac is when his mom acknowledges that he is the one who introduced her to Ken Palmer. This makes her son feel sad and awkward. He is likely still feeling upset after his parents’ divorce announcement and to have his mother tell him he is responsible for her meeting the new man in her life. Ouch, that has to sting. TLC fans look to be sympathetic with Isaac at this moment and have taken to the comment section to share their thoughts.
So far, Kim Plath has yet to tell her other “Welcome to Plathville” children about her new romance. But, it will likely not go over as well as she hopes. Most children stand firm alongside their father, Barry Plath, so to think about their mom with someone else will likely be a considerable ick factor for all. This should be interesting.
