Welcome to Plathville: Olivia Plath Lays Down Some Ground Rules For Ethan Plath
Olivia Plath says she is hurt and angry by how her Welcome to Plathville husband Ethan PLath’s siblings have treated her. At first, she says she tried to contact her in-law siblings, Moriah Plath, and Micah Plath, to try and work through their differences. But they ghosted her and refused any form of contact.
Olivia says she has developed a different attitude about the subject as time passes. Especially after Ethan decides to continue his relationship with his family without including her.
Things between the Welcome to Plathville spouses have been going downhill rapidly. They each are living their own lives. Per Olivia, she and Ethan spend very little time together anymore. So she was not too surprised when he told her he was heading back to Cairo, Georgia, to spend time with his family and pick up a couple of his classic cars to bring back.
Olivia admits feeling hurt that Ethan did not ask her to come along. But she knows she is not wanted. Ethan Plath also informed her that Micah would be coming back with him. This makes Olivia upset. She told her husband she did not want his family in her home. But Ethan seems to tune her out.
Ethan Ignores His Wife’s Demands
The Welcome to Plathville wife tells her husband she does not need that energy in her home. Olivia also warns Ethan that she would be unable to be around his family, especially Micah Plath or Moriah Plath, without confronting them.

Olivia doesn’t appreciate that the siblings took their mom, Kim Plath’s side, over hers about Ethan’s credit card. But the fact that Moriah accused her of stealing her music is more than she can handle. She refuses to take much more.

So, to keep things peaceful between her and Ethan, she demands he see his family anywhere other than in their home. She is very firm with her demands. But Ethan seems to be once again ignoring her feelings and boundaries.
Welcome to Plathville: Olivia & Ethan Call It Quits
Ethan Plath is returning to Minnesota with his sibling, Micah Plath. He knows Olivia says Micah is not welcome there. But Ethan is over his wife’s demanding ways. Throughout Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville, hints have been dropped many times that Ethan and Olivia’s marriage looks nearing the end.

Things could get awkward fast between Olivia and Micah. It will be uncomfortable for them all. But as most TLC viewers know, this is the beginning to the end for Ethan and Olivia in Season 5.
In October, Ethan Plath and Olivia Plath shared separate statements on Instagram revealing their decision to end their five-year marriage. Both Welcome to Plathville stars stated that the decision was mutual.
Ethan Plath’s post reads, “Olivia and I have parted ways. It just didn’t work out between us, though Lord knows we both gave it all we had. We seemed constantly pulling each other in opposite directions with different goals. I wish Olivia the best in the future. I care for her deeply and always will.” Ethan also shut off the comments to his post and updated his Instagram bio to no longer include his ex’s handle.
Olivia Plath’s statement was a little more heartfelt, but the result is the same, revealing that Welcome to Plathville couple Ethan Plath and Olivia Plath’s marriage is over. Were you surprised by their split, or is it long overdue?
