Welcome to Plathville stars Olivia Plath and Ethan Plath‘s story is far from over. It sounds like there could be much more to it than fans imagined. The TLC star reveals she has been keeping some shocking details regarding her relationship with Ethan under wraps. That is, until recently.
As TLC fans will recall, Ethan Plath and Olivia Plath’s marriage began on shaky ground. However, despite the conflicts between Olivia and her former in-laws, Barry and Kim Plath, the newly married couple moved forward with their lives.
During the past six seasons of Welcome to Plathville, viewers watched as the Plath family’s lives changed drastically before their eyes. But no one would know that behind the scenes, Olivia Plath was allegedly living in fear.
According to People Magazine, Olivia has recently dropped some serious allegations about her ex, Ethan Plath, revealing her experiences with “domestic violence and abuse” that allegedly took place before their split. On March 27, 2025, Olivia Plath opened up about her allegedly frightening experience on Instagram with her followers.
The Welcome to Plathville claims things were not as they appeared on TV. She revealed on social media that she began keeping a journal to document and process what was going on in her marriage. She claims she knew she wasn’t being treated well, writing in one entry, ‘I think I might be experiencing abuse but I’m not sure because I didn’t have bruises.”
Olivia Plath Describes Ethan Plath As ‘Very Threatening’
Olivia continues to detail her experiences, revealing a much darker side to Ethan Plath than reality television fans knew about. “He threatened to shoot my friends, that he called out by name, that he thought were influencing me to be more liberal and open-minded,” the photographer recounted. “The morning we broke up, he told me he was buying guns to restore order. Later, he told me, he never bought guns. He just did that to scare me.
“He would back me into corners, he would cuss me out, he would spit on my face and anytime I threatened to call the cops on that, he say, ‘I didn’t hit you, you have nothing on me,’” she alleged.“People saw a half of this on TV when I went back to Minnesota to get divorce papers signed when he slammed a chair into the bar, which he slammed things like that and made himself very physically threatening,” she alleged. “But what was cut out and didn’t make it was him looking me in the eye and saying very low, very calm, ‘Be very careful what you say.'”
After deciding to end their marriage, Olivia ensured the TLC camera crew was present whenever she had to deal with Ethan. So far, Ethan Plath has yet to respond publicly to Olivia’s accusations. Whether or not this latest cast drama will make it into Season 7 is unknown.
Plaths Gone Wild
TLC has not officially confirmed Season 7 of Welcome to Plathville. However, there is a lot of buzz circulating that the show has begun filming and could air later this summer. According to Sarah Fraser from The Sarah Fraser Show, multiple sources, including Isaac Plath, have confirmed a seventh season.
This is good news for Plathville fans, who have been chomping at-the-bit to catch up with their favorite family members. There will be a lot to unpack in the upcoming season. It looks as if Lydia Plath’s quickie wedding could be a huge storyline for the family.
Not only did Lydia tie the knot, but it is rumored that some major family drama also went down during the wedding between Micah Plath and youngest brother Issac Plath. It appears that a drunken brawl allegedly broke out between the brothers, which resulted in Micah’s trip to the hospital.
The fight was confirmed by Micah Plath’s now ex-girlfriend, Veronica, on Instagram. “Did Isaac break Micah’s nose at Lydia’s wedding?” someone asked her. “He drunkenly rearranged his face,” Veronica responded. “He nearly killed him. His nose was ripped off as well as the leather jacket he wore.”
