Olivia Plath was practically waiting by the door for her Welcome to Plathville spouse to return from his trip to Georgia. She had plenty of time to think things through while he was away, so now she wants a serious conversation.
Ethan Plath has also been doing a lot of thinking about their marriage as well. He has difficulty accepting how much he thinks Olivia has changed since they were first married.

They can’t seem to agree on anything anymore, causing a lot of distance between them. The two have always had their differences, especially regarding his family. But they had always been able to come to a compromise. That is until all the issues between Olivia, Moriah Plath, and Micah Plath took over.
During their conversation, Ethan tells Olivia that she has changed a lot. Olivia agrees with him but tells him it is unfair of him to think she wouldn’t change over the years. She reminds him that they married very young. Neither of them knew who or what they wanted to be.
Olivia says she has discovered more about herself as she has grown up over the years. She also feels that things between her and Ethan are stale on his end. She feels her Welcome to Plathville partner is unwilling to grow and broaden his horizons. He is content with his daily life and uninterested in growing and changing.
Ethan Speaks His Mind
Olivia Plath and Ethan Plath’s discussion becomes heated. Her husband disagrees with some of her statements about his willingness to change. The Welcome to Plathville sibling tells her he has also grown and changed. However, he believes he has made the biggest change in learning to speak his mind over the years.
Olivia Plath agrees. She feels that Ethan does a better job speaking more openly with her, but he fails to do the same with his family. Olivia tells Ethan that she can not handle much more regarding his family. Neither wants to give when it comes to this subject. During the discussion, she becomes hurt and frustrated and realizes that they are getting nowhere.
Welcome to Plathville: Olivia Faces The Hard Truth
The Welcome to Plathville spouses will not solve this issue at this time. Olivia is unsure if they will ever get past these problems, tearing them apart. In the past, they have tried separation and marriage counseling without any luck.
So Olivia Plath makes a harsh but truthful statement to her husband concerning their marriage. She tells him at this time, she fails to see any resolution. Olivia is growing emotional and adds that she is struggling to see the longevity of this relationship. She is over the discussion, grabs her coat, and walks out the door, leaving Ethan behind.

By now, TLC viewers know that Ethan Plath and Olivia Plath announced that they had decided to end their five-year marriage at the end of October. The pair each released separate statements and have yet to comment publicly since.
