David Bowie has died. The music icon lost his battle with cancer at 69 while surrounded by his loved one over the weekend.

According to David Bowie’s rep, the singer died on January 10th after a long 18-month battle with cancer. Bowie’s rep confirmed the sad news this week.

“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief,” a statement posted on the artist’s official social media accounts revealed.

David Bowie’s music widely known for his musical contributions around the world. Some of his most famous songs include “Space Oddity,” “Let’s Dance,” “Heroes,” “Star Man,” “Dancing In The Street,” “China Girl,” “All The Young Dudes,” “Thursday’s Child,” and so many more.

What Did David Bowie Die Of?

The singer, born in London on January 8, 1947. The musician changed his name from David Jones to David Bowie after the Monkee’s Davey Jones shot to fame. Bowie then went on to write, sing, and collaborate on some of the biggest hits of the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Fans are extremely saddened by David Bowie’s death as the result of his battle with cancer, and will remember him fondly as they blast his music in memory of his work and life.
