A teaser for the new Wolverine game in development was revealed at the 2021 Playstation showcase and fans of the “hero” are worried about the length and story of the game. With the team behind Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales taking up the Wolverine mantel some fans are at ease as the Spider-Man game was a big success. The game has been rumored to be a full-length game with a very dark tone but nothing is confirmed.
It is not certain when we will get this game as the studio working on it is very busy with Spider-Man 2 and there is very little news about this game at the moment.
“Details on this game are light, and Sony’s already admitted that it’s in early development. We’re not intimately familiar with Insomniac Games’ structure, but we’d imagine the majority of the Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart teams have moved on to this, with the remainder of the company focusing on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Exciting times for the sleepless studio!” reports Push Square.com.
Some fans want this game to be rated M for Mature so it can be gory and realistic to Wolverine’s character. Other fans just want a good story to play through and do not mind if it has the gore that people think of when talking about Wolverine. So little is know about this game that it could really go either way.
A new Wolverine video game is in the works
However, the game isn’t likely to be a gory with lots of blood and dismemberment. That might be disappointing to hear for some fas but if you look at the Spider-Man series that is not dark or gory they are still a great game. Only time will tell whether or not the game will be what fans hope it is. But for now, they can speculate and hope for the best.
It will be very interesting to see fan reactions as the game gets closer and closer to the release date and when new information on the story and style of the game is made public. But for now and for a while fans will have to wait to get information on the game as it is in very early development and no one knows for sure when it will even be released.
If the game is done the right way it has the potential to be an iconic game for a great franchise, but we can only hope it lives up to the high expectations that it has been given.
