For the most part, the Cleveland Cavaliers line-up is set in stone with the exception of restricted free agent Collin Sexton who has yet to resign with the Cavaliers their roster should pretty much remain the same. Many fans and NBA insiders believe that Sexton will be back with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming NBA season.

Even if Sexton returns to the Cavaliers they still are missing one piece in otherwise a pretty solid backcourt. That piece is a legitimate 2-way wing. A guard that can get things done on both the offensive and the defensive end of the court.

All-star point guard Darius Garland and his backcourt partner Collin Sexton are both great scorers but they lack on the defensive end and if they share the floor together that is a pretty noticeable weak point in the otherwise great Cavalier defense.

How could Wiggins help?

That is where Andrew Wiggins could come in. He is a big body on the defensive end and a great scorer.

“Instead, multiple league sources tell Right Down Euclid that Cleveland fans should keep an eye on Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins next summer. The Cavaliers have bounced around the idea of bringing back Wiggins into the fold for a while now and the Warriors probably cannot afford Wiggins on top of the other costly contracts on their payroll. With how Wiggins performed en route to an NBA Championship this summer, the fit would make almost too much sense with Cleveland.” according to King James Gospel.com.

The Cavaliers will have some cap space flexibility next season but it is getting to the point where they are going to have to decide where to send these dollars as Kevin Love’s contract will be ending but Garland’s max contract extension will be taking its place.

They also have Jarrett Allen on lock for a few more years, but Evan Mobley will be needing a new contract in the coming seasons and he has been too good for the Cavaliers not to pay him.

Andrew Wiggins to the Cavaliers just makes too much sense and nobody should be surprised if Cavaliers’ General Manager Mike Gansely and President Of Basketball Operations Dan Gilbert make it happen.

Wiggins could be on his way out of the bay area

As of right now Andrew Wiggins still has one year left on his contract with the Golden State Warriors as they look to repeat next season. Only time will tell if the Cavaliers can bring Wiggins back to Cleveland so for right now we will all just have to wait and see what happens in the coming seasons.
