LeBron James is and always will be an icon in Cleveland as he is the best player in Cavaliers history and the man who brought the City its first pro-sports championship in over 50 years and the Cavs’ first title.
LeBron was drafted by his hometown Cavaliers back in 3003 and since then he has done some fantastic things as a Cavalier. Winning two MVP awards during his time in Cleveland as well as taking an undermanned Cavaliers team to his first NBA Finals in 2007 and 4 consecutive Finals appearances and one win between 2015 through 2018.
The most notable of James’ achievements as a Cavalier was in 2016 when he led a Cavaliers team that was down three games to one against a loaded Golden State Warriors team to three straight wins to take the series. That was the first and so far only time a team has come back from being down 3-1 in the NBA Finals as they spoiled the Warriors’ record-breaking season as Steph Curry pushed that team to a regular season record of 73-9.
Is LeBron looking for a reunion with the Cavs?
Now that LeBron James has won yet another ring as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, is LeBron looking at a reunion with the Cleveland Cavaliers? During the 2022 NBA All-Star weekend in Cleveland, LeBron stated that “ The door is not closed” at a Cavaliers reunion. With the Cavs’ new addition of Donovan Mitchell as well as their other fantastic young players like Garland, Allen, and Mobley the Cavaliers sure do look tempting for any star player.
Would the Cavaliers be interested in LeBron coming home again? If they could find some common ground it would be amazing to see LeBron finish his career where it all began all those years ago. If LeBron and the Cavaliers could agree that the team belongs to the young stars like Garland and Mitchell James returning home would be a great end to his NBA story.
Will it actually happen is the real question, as LeBron has stated more than once that he wants to play with his son LeBron James Jr. also known as Bronny. Bronny is a senior in Highschool currently and is looking at colleges to commit to.
LeBron will be a Laker for a bit longer
LeBron Also just signed a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers with a player option in 2024. It will be very interesting to see how all of these events play out, but for right now we’ll all just have to wait and see what happens.
