Yellowstone Bombshell: Season 6 Would Have Delivered A Shocking Surprise That We’ll Never See

“Yellowstone” fans are still trying to get over the news that the show will end after Season 5 concludes in 2024. The hit show has become a huge favorite among TV viewers. However, it was shockingly canceled following issues with the lead actor, Kevin Costner. Now, a new report reveals what would have been in store for Season 6 of the series if the plug hadn’t been pulled. Of course, it sounds so juicy and dramatic.

Cory Ashbury was set to play an exciting new Yellowstone character in Season 6

During an interview with the “Dutton Rules” podcast, country music star Cory Asbury revealed that he had been tapped to play an exciting new character on “Yellowstone.” The singer revealed that he had signed on to join the cast, and had planned for he and his family to move to Montana to film for a year. Of course, he says he was “so bummed” when he found out that Season 6 wouldn’t be happening and that the show was canceled.

“I was supposed to be Kayce’s long-lost brother. We were gonna move to Montana for a full year. We were ready … Anna [his wife] gave me the OK and our kids were like, ‘OK, cool, we’ll live in Montana,'” Ashbury told the podcast.

A long-lost Dutton brother would have been shocking

This news is pretty surprising to “Yellowstone” fans. The fact that the show was going to introduce a long-lost Dutton sibling would have been huge. The Dutton family is broken enough, and they’ve had plenty of tragedy. Not only was the oldest brother, Lee Dutton, killed in the pilot episode, but it was also revealed that Jamie Dutton was adopted.

Cory Ashbury’s character may have thrown a huge wrench into the Dutton family dynamic. Why was he estranged from the family? Would he have challenged Beth and Kayce for power, or demanded a piece of the ranch? The possibilities are endless. However, fans will never get to see how it all would have played out.

Yellowstone spin-offs revealed following the show’s cancelation

After it was confirmed that “Yellowstone” would officially be canceled, news of more spin-offs began to circulate. As previously reported by Hollywood News Daily, fans won’t be without Dutton content for long. In addition to Season 2 of the prequel series, “1923,” more shows are on the way. Fans are even hoping for a Beth and Rip series.

Another prequel that’s currently being called “1944” is in the works. In addition, a modern-day spin-off that is being titled “2024” for now is also reportedly headed fans’ way. A show about Jimmy and the Four 6’s ranch in Texas is also to come, and has been teased for over a year now.

Sadly, fans won’t get to see how “Yellowstone” was supposed to play out. However, there is plenty to be excited about when it comes to the franchise.
