“Yellowstone” fans are dreading the end of the beloved TV show. It was previously announced that the second half of Season 5 would be the last. Now that the series has been officially canceled, everyone wants to know what’s next for the characters. Spin-offs have been rumored, and viewers are desperate for more story when it comes to characters like Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. So, will a Beth and Rip spin-off happen? Cole Hauser is up for it.
Yellowstone Season 5 could lead into a Beth and Rip spin-off
Before “Yellowstone” was revealed to end with Season 5, actor Cole Hauser weighed in on the possibility of having a spin-off between his character Rip Wheeler and his on-screen love Beth Dutton. The actor admitted that he would absolutely be down to continue Beth and Rip’s story because he loves the character and the people he works with so much.
“I would love to continue working with her [Kelly Reilly]. And Taylor [Sheridan]. That’s why I say yes, and I think, if it presented itself of course, I’d definitely entertain it,” Hauser previously told Entertainment Tonight. “You’d never know what her and I could get into. With Taylor writing, it could be a really interesting show,” he continued.
Cole Hauser says Beth and Rip were meant for each other
Fans have grown to love the relationship between Rip Wheel and Beth Dutton. Their sweet yet heartbreaking love story has played out over the course of “Yellowstone” for five seasons. Thanks to flashbacks, fans also got a look at their young beginnings. Now, Cole Hauser says that the couple were absolutely meant to be together.
“They were meant for each other, 1000%. They are soulmates, for good or bad,” he told Awards Daily. “They’re going to have their differences, their viewpoints. They’re not perfect. This is just my opinion,” the actor added.
Will any Yellowstone characters get a spin-off?
Taylor Sheridan has a love for the “Yellowstone” story. He’s already created to spin-offs about the Dutton family, including “1883” and “1923.” However, he hasn’t given any hints to creating a show surrounded by the current Duttons after the Season 5 series finale.
Things are still very up in the air at the moment as the Hollywood strikes are holding up production of the show. Actor Kevin Costner has also reportedly decided not to return to the series for the final episodes. This means that the lead character of John Dutton will be forced to meet a fate that fans will likely not love.
