“Yellowstone” news has been scarce as of late. However, fans finally know when the second half of Season 5 will return. The show is set for a huge comeback to air the final episodes, including the series finale, in November 2024. Although this seems like a very long wait, some news about the show and its spinoffs may help tide fans over until that time.
Yellowstone Season 5 will return in November 2024
As many fans already know, “Yellowstone” Season 5 began airing in early 2023, per THR. Fans were loving the new season when the unthinkable happened. After the show broke for a midseason pause, it was revealed that there were issues with star Kevin Costner. Following tons of rumors, it was confirmed that the show had been canceled and the second half of Season 5 would be the last for the beloved series.
The final episodes of Season 5 were originally scheduled to air in the summer of 2023. However, the drama with Costner, as well as the Hollywood strikes, put a stop to that. Now, it seems that the show has a plan moving forward. This includes concluding the original series and adding at least two new spinoffs to the roster. Here’s what we know about the new shows in the “Yellowstone” universe.
Yellowstone spinoff news revealed
Fans of “Yellowstone” know that the show’s spinoffs are just as epic as the original series. In the past, fans have seen “1883,” which starred Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and documented the first generation of Dutton family members in Montana. Later came “1923,” starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. Season 2 of that spinoff also still lies ahead. In addition, a spinoff about the Four 6’s ranch is also in development.
Meanwhile, a new spinoff titled “1944” is being created. This would likely be the follow up to “1923,” and possibly show older versions of characters such as Spencer Dutton. In other news, a modern-day spinoff that’s currently being called “2024” is also in development. This spin0ff is obviously the most intriguing.
Modern-Day Yellowstone spinoff to include current cast members?
If “Yellowstone” is ending in 2024, what would the modern spinoff being about? Will it be the aftermath of whatever happens in the series finale? A new look at the Dutton ranch? Perhaps some of the original cast might even be included in the “2024” series. (We can only hope!) A Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler spinoff has been teased!
It has definitely been an interesting ride for the “Yellowstone” franchise as of late. However, fans are now hoping that the final episodes of the series and the spinoffs will have been worth the wait.
