Zac Efron opens up on past year

Zac Efron has revealed that he has absolutely no regrets when it comes to finally admitting his battles with addiction.

The Neighbors’ star took time during an interview promoting the new comedy film with co-star Dave Franco to reflect on what a rough year personally he has had.

During a Monday morning interview on Today Zac Efron confessed to Matt Lauer that it is such a relief to have it all out in the open,

“Actually, it was a weight off my chest.

“It’s kind of funny: Neighbors is such a great icing on the cake for all of this. I was able to kind of channel all of that and put it back into this movie. I feel great. I feel really blessed to be here working with this group of group of guys. I couldn’t be better right now. I’m really excited.”

Pal and co-star Dave Franco chimed in saying, “I’m really excited for Zac because I know a lot of people have this preconception of who he is.”

Efron admits to lessons learned

“No matter who you are, you face challenges growing up,” Zac Efron says.

“You go with your things, you learn, you have to. It’s impossible to lead an honest and fulfilling life as a man and not make mistakes and ‘fess up to them when you need to. But it’s especially humiliating when they happen to be so public and so scrutinized.”

” I wouldn’t take anything back; I needed to learn everything I did. But it was an interesting journey, to say the least.

Zac Efron has revealed that he has recently joined Alcoholics Anonymous and also has been seeing a therapist.

“I just started going,” he says. “And I think it’s changed my life. I’m much more comfortable in my own skin. Things are so much easier now.”

Zac is reminded daily of his battle with addiction, “It’s a never-ending struggle.”

Congratulations to Zac Efron on his sobriety.

Neighbors is scheduled for release in theaters on May 9.
