Love confirms Hole reunion

Courtney Love has announced that Hole is reuniting, and going on tour this May.

Courtney Love, who is best known as the late Kurt Cobain’s wife reveals that for the first time since Hole disbanded twelve years ago, they have reunited, planned a tour and will be releasing new music in the upcoming weeks.

Hole will begin embarking on a short U.K. tour in May according to Love who stated to the Quietus saying,

“I started playing with [drummer Patty Schemel] and [bassist Melissa Auf der Maur] and [guitarist Eric Erlandson], just to see how that was,” Love said. “We already played like three or four times in the last week.”

Hole,which also features drummer Patty Schemel, is planning on releasing a new single titled “Wedding Day” in May to coincide with a U.K. tour

The band has been cited as a major influence on several contemporary artists, including indie singer-songwriter Scout Niblett,Brody Dalle (of The Distillers and Spinnerette),and the British rock band Nine Black Alps

The band ranked at #77 of VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Artists.

Hole will perform eight shows in England and Scotland:
May 11: London – Sheperds Bush Empire
May 12: London – Sheperds Bush Empire
May 13: Manchester – Manchester Academy
May 15: Glasgow – O2 Academy
May 16: Leeds – O2 Academy
May 18: Birmingham – O2 Academy
May 19: Bristol – O2 Academy
May 20: Nottingham – Rock City
